Life is a Journey is a very personal song as it was inspired by the challenges Centane born rapper Ma-X faces in his life on a daily basis. It is not every day these days that a rapper pens something so heartfelt and personal; Ma-X was brave enough to take this route. He tells of the hardships he is facing as he is chasing his dreams, why he keeps pushing and what keeps him going to motivate the next person who lends an ear because almost everyone faces such. Ma-X had an idea of the song and went with it to Eazzie Beats who browsed straight to the soulful and super melodic beat. He then wrote both verses then went to Kae Wax who’s known for killing the best hooks in the Western Cape hip-hop circles and he rendered a beautiful hook, something beyond expectation that complemented the verses on a spiritual level. The trio really made a super special record, something one would say breaches the gap between “conscious rap’ and the new wave, a perfect fuse of both.
