About Cashminers:
Cashminers is a dynamic and genre-blending up and coming music group or movement that burst onto the music scene in the early 2015s previously known as “Ladysmith Cash Miners”. Found and formed in a small studio “SME” located in the city Johannesburg by three close friends with a shared passion for music.
Comprising vocalist, guitarist, producer and songwriter Elkay Macburner; vocalist, songwriter AB-MAT; and songwriter, vocalist Mzwa, Cashminers draw their inspiration from a wide range of musical genres, including Kwaito, afro house, amapiano, and pitori music. Their versatility and ability to seamlessly blend these influences into their own distinct style have earned them a dedicated and diverse fan base.
As a socially conscious group, Cashminers have plans to use their platform to advocate for various causes, including GBV and mental health awareness affecting musicians in the entertainment industry in South Africa. Their hope is to collaborate with charitable organizations and raise funds for multiple causes through concerts and campaigns.
